Boeing just announced on Thursday that it will restart the production of commercial airplanes come next week in Seattle. This will demand that Boeing brings about 27,000 people back to work after operations were suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

These Employees which work on the 737, 747, 767 and 777 airplanes will return very soon as early as Monday with most returning to work by Tuesday, officials said. Employees for the 787 program will return next Thursday and Friday.

They claim to have taken extra precautions and newly instituted procedures in all of its sites so as to reduce the spread of the virus in the workplace. The newly instituted procedures as they said included the use of face masks and other protective equipment, hand-washing sites, and employee wellness checks, and many more.

In a new release, the CEO of Boeing commercial airplanes and senior executive in the Pacific Northwest, Stan Deal, said “This phased approach ensures we have a reliable supply base, our personal protective equipment is readily available and we have all of the necessary safety measures in place to resume essential work for our customers,”

After some employees were tested positive for the COVID 19, Boeing had to shut down. That was on effect March 25 after. Not only that, but they also recorded a death, That is an inspector who had been working there for a while.

In Seattle, Boeing operates two commercial aviation production facilities, that is one in Everett and the other in Renton. Its Everett facility, north of Seattle, produces airplanes including 777s, 787s, 767s, and 747s as well as the KC-46A military refueling and transport plane. Its plant in Renton, south of Seattle, produces the 737 line and military P-8s.

This step by Boeing is going to be one of the first steps in reopening the US economy as Donal Trump announced earlier this week.
